1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Browser storage, such as local storage, works in a similar way but stays on your device and is not sent with every request.
2. Essential cookies we use
These cookies are needed for the website and app to work, so they do not need consent and cannot be switched off in our settings.

|---|---|---|---|
| variask_session | Keeps you signed in to your Variask account. | Essential | 30 days, or until you log out |
| variask_device | Recognises a browser that already used a trial, so each person gets one trial. | Essential | 2 years |
3. Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and how they find us, so we can improve the website. These cookies are set only if you accept them. Until then, and if you reject them, Google Analytics runs in consent mode without setting cookies. Google processes this data for us.

| _ga | Google Analytics: tells visits apart so we can count how many people use the website. | 2 years |
| _ga_QFNYN7PCLF | Google Analytics: keeps the state of a visit, such as pages viewed. | 2 years |
4. Browser storage for preferences
Inside the app, we keep a few preferences in your browser so the interface looks the way you left it. Nothing here identifies you or is shared with anyone.
