What is a likely range?

By the Variask team · Updated

Definition

A likely range is the span within which a score such as AI visibility probably sits, given how many answers it was measured from. A score of 30% with a range of 25 to 35% is more honest than 30% alone, because AI answers vary.

With Variask: Every Variask visibility score carries a 95% likely range, and every change gets a real or noise verdict.

How it works

  • Scores from samples of answers are estimates.
  • More answers give a narrower range.
  • A 95% range means the true value is very likely inside it.
  • Two scores whose ranges overlap a lot may not really differ.

What it means for brands

  • Ask for ranges before you trust any AI visibility number.
  • Celebrate moves that clear the range, not ones inside it.
